We have an exciting opportunity for an Inside Sales Executive to join our Import Far East Commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day management of customer allocations and booking flow across the FEWB trade. Working closely with both the Trade and Sales teams, you will be responsible for monitoring weekly space utilisation, managing booking intake against allocation, and ensuring cargo is loaded in line with commercial priorities and vessel requirements.
How you will help us and what you can expect
*Monitor and manage weekly vessel space utilisation across the FEWB trade, ensuring allocations are maximised in line with commercial priorities
*Oversee daily booking intake, validating bookings against allocation, rate, and equipment availability
*Liaise with overseas offices, agents, and customers to manage rollings, prioritisations, and last-minute booking amendments
*Work closely with the Trade team to ensure cargo mix aligns with rate policy, yield targets, and trade strategy
*Maintain accurate records of allocation usage, rolled cargo, and booking performance for weekly reporting
*Communicate proactively with internal departments (Trade, Sales, Operations, Equipment, and Documentation) to resolve booking and space-related issues
*Assist in the preparation of weekly space and utilisation reports for review with the Trade Development Manager, Geneva and wider commercial team
*Support customer queries relating to space, sailing schedules, and booking confirmations in a professional and timely manner
*Contribute to continuous improvement of cargo management processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflow and improve efficiency
Skills and experience you’ll bring to us
*Strong desire to learn the mechanics of vessel space management, allocation, and booking flow within a fast-paced trade environment
*Confident communicator with the ability to build close working relationships with internal teams, overseas offices, and customers
*Ability to make decisions under pressure and prioritise bookings in line with commercial and operational requirements
*Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to managing data, allocations, and reporting
*Strong Excel and Power BI skills, with a willingness to develop reporting and analytical capabilities
*Team player with a strong work ethic and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
*Flexible attitude to working hours to meet deadlines, with proven time management skills
