Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a long-standing client, a highly respected Cornish organisation. They are seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a fixed-term basis, until 31st December 2026.
This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of day-to-day finance processes, whilst working closely with colleagues across a busy and multi-site operation. You’ll play a key part in ensuring accounting deadlines are met, maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable support to both the finance team and operational managers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day sales ledger, including raising invoices and maintaining accurate customer accounts
- Administering direct debits and resolving customer account queries
- Taking responsibility for credit control activities and debtor reconciliations
- Processing daily banking and cash transactions, ensuring timely reconciliations
- Supporting operational managers with finance and system-related queries
- Assisting with month-end activities, financial reporting and ad hoc finance projects
- Providing support across the wider finance function, including purchase ledger where required
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to continuous improvements within the department
This hands-on role would suit an experienced Finance Officer/Accounts Assistant who possesses at least 12 months’ experience in a similar finance position. You’ll have a solid understanding of sales ledger, bank reconciliations and general finance processes alongside excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to your work. Experience using Sage and Microsoft Excel is essential and you’ll be confident managing your own workload. Previous experience of credit control, funding administration or supporting a multi-site organisation would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Cornish employer with a supportive culture, modern approach to technology and a collaborative finance team. The role offers hybrid working, a varied workload and the chance to make a real contribution during a busy period.
