An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Delivery Project Manager to lead a high-profile healthcare redevelopment programme at one of London’s most prestigious private hospitals.
This client-side role will take ownership of the delivery of a complex portfolio of capital projects, overseeing the transformation of clinical and non-clinical environments whilst ensuring hospital operations, patient safety, and service continuity are maintained throughout construction.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned healthcare construction professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the future estate strategy of a leading healthcare organisation.
The Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of major healthcare refurbishment and redevelopment projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.
Working closely with senior executives, clinicians, estates teams, consultants, architects, contractors and specialist advisors, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the delivery of complex healthcare capital projects within a live hospital environment.
*Develop project briefs, specifications, programmes and business cases.
*Manage multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
*Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, clinicians and hospital leadership.
*Oversee project governance, risk management and programme reporting.
*Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, statutory requirements and construction legislation.
*Manage project budgets, financial reporting and cost control activities.
*Coordinate contractor performance, quality, health & safety and programme delivery.
*Lead project commissioning, practical completion and operational handover.
*Drive continuous improvement and promote best practice in healthcare project delivery.
About You
We are seeking an experienced healthcare project professional with a proven track record of delivering major capital projects and refurbishment programmes within complex operational environments.
You will possess excellent stakeholder management skills and be comfortable influencing at Executive level whilst maintaining hands-on project delivery oversight.
Essential Experience
*Significant healthcare project delivery experience, ideally client-side.
*Strong knowledge of healthcare construction, refurbishment and redevelopment programmes.
*Demonstrable experience managing contractors, consultants and supply chains.
*Excellent understanding of construction project management methodologies.
*Strong commercial and financial management skills.
*Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction health & safety requirements.
*Experience managing projects within live operational environments.
*Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*Experience using project management and reporting systems.
Desirable Experience
*Degree qualified in Construction, Project Management, Surveying or related discipline.
*RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent professional membership.
*JCT contract administration and procurement experience.
*BREEAM, WELL or LEED project delivery experience.
*NEBOSH qualification.
*Knowledge of BIM and healthcare design principles.
