Job Description:
Full job descriptionPortfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Surrey based client to recruit for a Buyer.
Main purpose of role:
To own, maintain and develop an assigned portfolio of suppliers and products. Building strong, performance-managed supplier relationships that secure continuity of supply, drive down cost and risk, and keep stock and service levels on target.
Duties:
*Own and maintain an assigned portfolio of suppliers.
*Hold regular supplier reviews.
*Ensure supplier terms and agreements are maintained and up to date.
*Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
*Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times with suppliers to meet company cost and margin targets.
*Place and expedite timely purchase orders
*Maintain correct stock levels.
Skills and Experience required:
*Previous experience as a Buyer from within a manufacturing environment
*Good negotiation experience.
*Previous experience with managing suppliers.
*Good numeracy and written skills.
*Confident with various computer programmes including Outlook, Excel and an ERP/MRP system.
