Description
*Lead the engineering and NPI teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
*Develop and implement strategies for new product development and process improvement.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering objectives with business goals.
*Oversee the design, testing, and production phases of new products.
*Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations across all engineering activities.
*Monitor and manage budgets related to engineering and NPI projects.
*Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff.
*Drive innovation and continuous improvement across all engineering processes
*Own the product development and design strategy
*Hold senior accountability for the end-to-end NPI
*Hold overall accountability for delivery of the Design project portfolio
*Own and manage the Design & R&D department budget (capex and opex), including investment cases for facilities, tools, systems and headcount, delivering value for money.
*Ensure the department operates to the company’s H&S standards at all times and hold senior accountability for a safe working environment and culture across the Design and R&D / Test facilities.
*Partner at a senior level with Commercial, Purchasing, Operations / Manufacturing and Quality to align the product pipeline, resolve escalations and ensure a smooth design-to-production transition.

Profile
A successful Head of NPI & Engineering should have:
*A strong background in engineering, particularly within the manufacturing sector.
*You will have a proven track record as and engineering or engineering director within the manufacturing sector
*Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
*Knowledge of new product development processes and methodologies.
*Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and compliance requirements.
*Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
*The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
*A qualified mechanical engineer or related field
*A leader / senior manager / director in mechanical engineering environment
Job Offer
£85,000 to £95,000 plus pacakge
