Full job descriptionWe are currently partnering with a well-established Housing Association based in Luton, who are recruiting for a Finance Team Leader to join their Finance team on a permanent basis.
Our client has been supporting communities across Luton and South Bedfordshire for over 60 years and is committed to providing high-quality housing services while creating a supportive and inclusive working environment for its employees.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, with a salary of £33,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience). The organisation operates an agile working policy, allowing employees to work from any of its sites or remotely where business needs allow.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
*Supervising the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and rent accounting functions, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
*Maintaining monthly cashbooks and completing bank reconciliations across all company bank accounts
*Posting journals and maintaining the nominal ledger to ensure accurate financial records
*Preparing purchase ledger payment runs and resolving finance queries with colleagues and suppliers
*Assisting with maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting the Financial Controller with departmental processes
*Supervising and setting targets for the Finance team while managing your own workload and identifying opportunities to improve processes
Experience required:
*A minimum of two years’ experience working within a busy finance or accounting environment
*Previous experience supervising or leading finance processes
*Experience using accounting software and payroll systems
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
*Strong bank reconciliation and nominal ledger experience
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
*Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the organisation
*High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
