Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday plus participation in an on-call rota
Essential Car User Allowance plus mileage reimbursement
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Hostel Service Manager to lead high-quality supported housing services for vulnerable adults. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate leader with experience in supported housing, homelessness, social care or a related sector. The successful candidate will oversee accommodation-based services, leading a team to deliver safe, person-centred support that empowers residents to develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage supported housing and hostel services, ensuring residents receive high-quality support and achieve positive outcomes.
*Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and development to Team Leaders, Coordinators and Support Coaches.
*Promote psychologically informed and trauma-informed approaches throughout service delivery.
*Drive continuous improvement by monitoring performance, identifying opportunities and implementing service enhancements.
*Manage service performance indicators including occupancy, voids, rent collection, arrears, safeguarding and customer outcomes.
*Ensure effective safeguarding practices are embedded across services and that risk is managed appropriately.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, support agencies and community partners.
*Take responsibility for service budgets, income management and financial performance.
*Oversee audits, compliance activities and quality assurance processes.
*Produce performance reports and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
*Support the identification of funding opportunities, grants and tender submissions.
About You
*Significant management experience within supported housing, homelessness, social care or a similar support service environment.
*A proven track record of leading and developing successful teams.
*Experience supporting vulnerable adults and promoting independence and wellbeing.
*Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
*A strong understanding of homelessness, support services, safeguarding and social challenges affecting vulnerable people.
*Experience using data and performance information to drive service improvement.
*Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
*High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience and professionalism.
*Good IT skills, including the ability to maintain records and produce reports.
*A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
