Full job description Accounts Clerk (Temp to Permanent)
Location: Chichester
Salary:£15.00 - £17.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (some flexibility available)
Contract: Temporary assignment with the opportunity to become permanent for the successful candidate
Start Date: Immediate
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Clerk to join a friendly and well-established business based in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity to secure an immediate start in a varied finance role, with the potential to become a permanent member of the team.
Working from lovely modern offices with free on-site parking, you will be part of a supportive office environment where your contribution will be valued.
Key Responsibilities
*Processing purchase and sales ledger invoices
*Bank reconciliations
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns
*Processing payroll and maintaining accurate payroll records
*Credit control and supplier payment processing
*Assisting with month-end procedures
*Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
*General finance administration and support to the accounts team
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in an Accounts Clerk or similar finance role
*Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
*Experience preparing VAT returns
*Payroll processing experience
*Good understanding of bookkeeping principles
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Confident using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
*Able to work independently and as part of a small team
