As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager /Financial Controller to join our close-knit team. The RoleReporting directly to the Directors, you will oversee the financial operations of the business, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance and reporting while providing commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring someone who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day finance operations as they are contributing to the long-term financial strategy of the business.
You will inspire confidence across the organisation, ensuring sound financial management while helping to drive profitability, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership*Lead the day-to-day financial management of the business.
*Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
*Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory requirements.
*Develop and maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.
*Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic planning and business decisions.
*Identify financial, operational and commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
*Present financial information clearly and confidently to Directors and non-financial stakeholders.
Compliance & Governance*Act as the company’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing all Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures.
*Ensure compliance with financial, taxation and regulatory requirements.
*Maintain robust internal controls and continuously improve financial processes.
Operational ResponsibilitiesThis is a collaborative, hands-on role and responsibilities will include:
*Managing aged debt and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
*Overseeing supplier payments and ensuring invoices are paid promptly.
*Accurate allocation of expenditure across the profit and loss account.
*Overseeing lettings accounts, including daily landlord payments.
*Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
*Producing meaningful financial analysis to support future acquisitions and investment decisions.
*Working closely with operational teams to improve business performance and profitability.
About YouWe’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Essential Qualifications & Experience*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE) with significant relevant experience.
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
*Strong technical accounting knowledge including management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
*Excellent understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT and taxation.
*Experience managing financial controls, compliance and risk management.
*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
*Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable*Previous experience as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) or knowledge of AML regulations.
*Experience within the property, estate agency or lettings sector.
*Experience supporting business acquisitions, integrations or business growth.
*Previous experience leading or mentoring finance staff.
