Prospero Teaching is recruiting enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Dorset from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, or other education-based careers.
You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience managing classrooms, supporting young people, and developing the skills highly sought after in the education sector.

Your RoleAs a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring learning continues when teachers are absent. You will:
*Lead lessons using pre-prepared teaching materials
*Maintain a positive, focused, and engaging classroom environment
*Support students in completing tasks and achieving learning objectives
*Manage behaviour confidently and professionally
*Ensure continuity of learning across a range of subjects
*Build positive relationships with students and staff
Subjects You Could CoverNo two days are the same. You may work across:
*English
*Mathematics
*Science
*Humanities
*Modern Foreign Languages
*Design & Technology
*ICT / Computer Science
*Physical Education
*Art & Performing Arts

*Comfortable leading groups and managing a classroom environment
*Keen to gain experience in secondary education
Experience & QualificationsWe welcome applicants with:
*Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, tutoring, youth work, or similar settings
*A degree or strong academic background (preferred but not essential)
*Safeguarding training (desirable, but training can be provided)
What You’ll Need*Right to Work in the UK
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*Two recent professional references
