The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual potential. Working alongside class teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
*Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other additional learning needs.
*Assisting pupils to engage with classroom activities and the wider school environment.
*Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
*Implementing EHCPs, individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
*Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
*Supporting with personal care where required.
*Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have:
*Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
*A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
*A passion for supporting children to achieve their potential.
*A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
