Assistant Credit Controller | Wolverhampton | £25,949 | Immediate Start
Location: Wolverhampton (on site, Civic Centre)
Salary: £150 per day
Contract type: Fixed term, 10 months (maternity cover)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (37 hours per week)

The role
An established organisation based in Wolverhampton city centre is looking for an Assistant Credit Controller to join its Accounts Receivable team on a fixed term basis, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a hands on credit control role suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and is confident dealing directly with people over the phone and by email.
You will provide day to day support across the credit control function, working closely with senior team members while building your own understanding of the full process from query to resolution.

Key responsibilities
Managing a busy central inbox and telephone queries, using judgement to resolve repeat and routine questions efficiently
General credit control administration, including invoicing and support with external debt collection processes
Investigating and following up on outstanding queries, using initiative to work through your own caseload rather than being closely directed
Supporting the wider team during busy periods, with the opportunity to shadow other departments and broaden your experience of the full customer journey
Building strong working relationships across a diverse, collaborative team

What we are looking for
Previous credit control experience, with a solid understanding of how the end to end process works
Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with a wide range of people
A proactive, self sufficient approach, comfortable using initiative rather than needing constant guidance
A positive, personable manner and the ability to work well within a close knit team
Adaptable candidates from other sectors are welcome to apply, alongside those with a public sector or education background

Why apply
This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your credit control experience within a stable, well supported team, with genuine scope to learn beyond the core role through cross department exposure.
