CMD Recruitment is delighted to be working with our fantastic client in Trowbridge, who is looking to welcome a Junior Data Migration Specialist to their growing technical team.
If you have a keen interest in databases and a basic understanding of coding, this role offers a brilliant stepping stone. You will work alongside experienced colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge, helping you build confidence as you work on live data projects and learn how to solve complex technical challenges. It is a highly supportive, team-first environment where your development is a priority and your input is valued from day one.
What You’ll Be Doing*Working closely with the team to assist with data mapping and transferring datasets safely between systems
*Learning how to set up, mount, and test databases in different environments to prepare them for migration
*Helping to monitor systems after they go live, identifying any data glitches and learning how to resolve them
*Assisting with day-to-day database queries and troubleshooting to ensure information flows smoothly
*Practising and developing your coding skills by helping to write scripts and automate everyday tasks using Python or C#
What We’re Looking For*A basic understanding of database concepts and how data is structured
*Some hands-on experience writing SQL queries, whether from your studies, personal projects, or an internship
*A foundational knowledge of Python or C#, with an eagerness to develop these scripting skills further
*Great attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach to solving problems
*Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude, as you will be working with various teams
*A proactive mindset and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the data sector
