We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Interventions Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic Alternative Provision supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people who need additional support, encouragement and belief to succeed.
About the Role
As an Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering targeted academic, social and emotional interventions to students who require additional support. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will help identify learning gaps, build confidence and develop strategies that enable students to engage, progress and thrive.
No two days are the same. This role requires energy, patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions across a range of subjects, including English and Maths.
*Supporting students with literacy, numeracy and emotional regulation strategies.
*Working with learners who may have SEND, SEMH needs or experienced barriers to mainstream education.
*Tracking progress and providing feedback on intervention outcomes.
*Supporting behaviour positively and consistently.
*Building strong, professional relationships with students to increase engagement and confidence.
*Contributing to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
*Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally KS3 and KS4.
*Experience delivering targeted interventions and measuring impact.
*A calm, patient and resilient approach.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Ability to motivate and inspire young people who may be disengaged from education.
*A team player who is flexible, proactive and solution-focused.
*Experience within an Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH setting would be advantageous.
