We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and welcoming Primary School in Slough (SL3) seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance, health & safety and security of the school site.
Please note: Previous School Site Manager experience, a strong Health & Safety background and a full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement are essential requirements for this position.

Permanent | Full Time | 37 Hours per Week
Start Date: October 2026 (or sooner)
Salary: (£30,160 - £35,530 Inclusive of Fringe Allowance.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will lead the effective management and maintenance of the school premises and grounds, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently at all times.
You will oversee site security, coordinate maintenance works, manage contractors, monitor compliance and health & safety requirements, and support the delivery of school activities and events.
The role includes line management responsibilities and requires a flexible approach to working hours when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site and grounds.
*Ensure the school remains safe, secure, clean and compliant at all times.
*Lead on all Health & Safety matters, ensuring legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to across the site.
*Conduct regular premises inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
*Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance works.
*Manage external contractors and monitor service standards.
*Oversee site security, including opening and closing procedures.
*Maintain accurate compliance and statutory testing records.
*Provide advice, support and training on premises-related matters and relevant legislation.
*Line manages the Assistant Site Officer.
*Work closely with the cleaning contractor supervisor to coordinate cleaning operations across the school.
*Support extended school activities, educational visits and school events.
*Drive the school minibus when required.
*Ensure the school minibus is maintained, cleaned, fuelled and ready for use.
*Participate in training and professional development activities.
*Undertake any additional duties reasonably required by the Headteacher.
Essential Requirements
*Previous experience working as a Site Manager within a school environment.
*Proven experience managing school premises and facilities.
*Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, compliance and risk management.
*Experience carrying out and managing statutory checks and site compliance requirements.
*Previous supervisory or management experience.
*Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
*A full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (essential).
*Willingness and ability to drive the school minibus when required.
*A flexible approach to working hours to support school events and operational requirements.
Desirable
*Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent).
*First Aid qualification.
