Full job description Tyne and Wear / Hybrid Working
£65,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Reed Financial Services are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and growing insurance organisation as they look to appoint a Senior Pricing & Optimisation Analyst into their specialist Pricing function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced pricing professional to join a collaborative team where you’ll have genuine influence over pricing strategy, portfolio performance and commercial decision-making.
Unlike many pricing positions that focus on a narrow technical area, this role offers broad exposure across pricing, optimisation, risk modelling, market analysis and strategic projects, allowing you to make a visible impact across the business.
The Role
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in developing, enhancing and challenging pricing strategies to drive profitable growth and improve business performance.
You’ll be encouraged to bring new ideas, improve existing processes and contribute to the future direction of the pricing function.
Key responsibilities include:
*Developing and enhancing pricing and optimisation strategies.
*Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying trends and opportunities.
*Conducting detailed pricing, risk and market analysis.
*Making data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.
*Reviewing and improving existing pricing methodologies and processes.
*Supporting governance and oversight of pricing models and rating structures.
*Undertaking competitor analysis and market benchmarking.
*Collaborating with underwriting, product and wider business teams.
*Mentoring and supporting more junior team members where appropriate.
*Contributing to long-term strategic initiatives within the pricing function.
About You
We’re keen to speak with experienced pricing professionals who can bring both strong technical capability and fresh thinking to the team.
You’ll ideally have:
*Insurance pricing experience, within personal lines motor insurance.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Experience using SQL and Python.
*Knowledge of pricing models, risk analysis and portfolio management.
*Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
*A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo.
*Experience with pricing platforms such as Radar, Emblem, Optimiser or similar tools.
*A degree in a numerical, mathematical, scientific or related discipline.
Applicants with broader personal lines pricing experience will also be considered, and actuarial qualifications are welcomed but not essential. Practical experience and commercial impact are viewed as equally important.
Why Apply?
This position offers more than just a senior analyst role.
You’ll be joining a highly visible team with direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence strategic decisions. There is also genuine scope for longer-term progression as the pricing function continues to evolve and grow.
Package & Benefits
*Salary £65,000 - £85,000
*Annual discretionary bonus
*Hybrid working arrangement
*Generous annual leave allowance
*Life assurance
*Healthcare and wellbeing benefits
*Career development opportunities
*Flexible and supportive working environment
