About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support our growing construction operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional who enjoys working closely with site teams, influencing positive behaviours, and helping to drive a strong safety culture across multiple projects.
The successful candidate will provide practical health and safety support, ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice, and work collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain safe working environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site inspections and audits across active construction projects.
Provide competent health and safety advice to managers, supervisors, employees, and subcontractors.
Assist with the preparation, review, and implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015.
Support project teams in planning and delivering work safely and efficiently.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and health and safety briefings.
Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of health and safety policies and procedures.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required.
Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture throughout clients businesses.
Essential Requirements:
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety (Essential).
Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations 2015.
Experience conducting site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Experience reviewing and assessing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to influence and support teams at all levels of the organisation.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems.
