Salary: £200-250 per day (umbrella)
Job Type: Temporary, 12–18 months
On-site: 5 days
The Role
A well-established manufacturing business in the Alfreton area is looking for a Management Accountant to join on a 12–18 month fixed-term basis. This is a business-critical assignment supporting the finance function through a period of transition, as core accounting processes are transferred to an offshore finance team.
You’ll work closely with the UK Finance Controller to maintain strong financial control and continuity throughout the transition, ensuring reporting standards, costing accuracy and month-end discipline are maintained while knowledge is handed over.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the Finance Controller in preparing monthly management accounts
*Manage inventory-related reconciliations and control, including inventory provisioning
*Complete various control account reconciliations
*Deliver cost and margin analysis and reporting
*Maintain standard costs, including recovery rates and the annual cost roll-up
*Maintain standard costs for raw materials and packaging
*Analyse volume, sales and margin data in Power BI, supporting report development
*Assist with the annual budget process across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
*Support the year-end estimation process and related schedules
*Assist with preparation of statutory accounts
About You
*Qualified (ACCA/CIMA) / Qualified by Experiene (QBE)
*Experience within a general finance function, ideally in a manufacturing environment
*Costing and COGS experience desirable
*SAP experience desirable
*Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with standard costing systems
*Confident working with control account reconciliation and investigatory analysis
*Able to work independently through a period of process change and handover
