Full job descriptionOn behalf of our client, we are recruiting for an experienced Schemes Technical Product Manager to join a leading insurance business with a well-established delegated authority and schemes proposition.
This is a senior technical role responsible for the ownership, development and performance of a portfolio of insurance schemes. Working closely with insurers, capacity providers and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in driving product innovation, commercial growth and technical excellence across the business.
The OpportunityYou’ll take ownership of a portfolio of delegated authority products, ensuring they remain commercially competitive, technically robust and aligned with both insurer and client expectations.
Working across underwriting, broking and insurer relationships, you’ll lead scheme development, tenders, audits and performance reviews while helping shape the future direction of the wider schemes proposition.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical insurance knowledge with commercial awareness and enjoys influencing strategy within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities*Take technical ownership of a portfolio of delegated authority and scheme products.
*Act as the technical lead for schemes across the business.
*Lead scheme tenders and re-tenders to secure competitive insurer partnerships.
*Conduct scheme audits to ensure compliance, performance and contractual alignment.
*Build and manage relationships with insurers and capacity providers.
*Drive product development and innovation across the schemes portfolio.
*Identify opportunities to improve scheme structure, profitability and operational efficiency.
*Monitor scheme performance and recommend improvements where required.
*Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders.
*Contribute to the wider schemes strategy and Group Schemes Committee.
*Lead, coach and develop a team of Scheme Managers, driving engagement and performance.
About YouWe’re looking for an experienced insurance professional who brings:
*Strong technical experience within Delegated Authority, Schemes or Underwriting.
*Experience working closely with insurers and capacity providers.
*Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives.
*Experience managing scheme performance, audits and compliance.
*Confidence leading tenders, negotiations and insurer discussions.
*Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
*The ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities.
*Previous leadership or people management experience would be advantageous.
