Full job descriptionA major Private Hospital in London is seeking a Head of HR to cover some maternity leave within the team. It will be a 12 month contract role, with attendance required on-site 5 days per week.
It will report directly into the HR Director, and lead a team of 4. The successful candidate will ensure the hospital maintains an exceptional HR, training, recruitment and retention service.
They’ll also provide senior leadership across HR operations, employee relations, workforce initiatives and people governance, shaping a service that supports staff wellbeing, organisational change and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
*Lead the HR function and ensure consistent, high-quality people practices.
*Drive workforce initiatives supporting recruitment, retention and future workforce planning.
*Provide expert ER guidance and coach managers on policy and casework.
*Manage budgets and contracts across OH, training and staff benefits.
*Oversee people governance including DBS, Right to Work and sponsorship.
*Develop KPIs and dashboards to support performance and decision-making.
*Support regulatory compliance including workforce-related inspection requirements.
Requirements:
*Available to start a new role on no longer than 2 weeks notice
*Senior HR experience in healthcare environment.
*Strong operational HR expertise and experience leading teams.
*Proven delivery of HR interventions and workforce projects.
*Confident handling complex ER cases and policy development.
*Degree-level education and CIPD qualification (level 7 desirable)
*Credible, values-led leader with a coaching approach.
