The Workshop Manager RoleReporting into the Fleet Engineer, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring the engineering team delivers an efficient, compliant and high-quality maintenance service.
You’ll manage a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor, ensuring workloads are planned effectively, vehicle downtime is minimised and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
You’ll also take ownership of fleet maintenance systems, workshop safety, labour planning and vehicle documentation, helping to drive operational performance across both the Bishops Cleeve and Bristol sites.
Workshop Manager Essential Skills*Previous experience managing an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
*HGV Class 2 licence (or above)
*City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent HGV qualification
*Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
*Experience using fleet maintenance systems such as R2C
*Understanding of LOLER inspections and Operator Licence compliance
*Excellent leadership and communication skills
*Ability to manage workshop performance and maximise vehicle availability
