*Annual Salary: £40-45 per hour.
*Location: Salford, Manchester
*Job Type: Full-time (36 hours per week, according to service needs)
We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead a staff team in providing exceptional care and achieving the best possible outcomes for all young people. This role involves full management responsibility for the home, including staff, budgets, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare management and be adept at developing services that respond effectively to the needs of service users and their families.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead and manage a staff team, ensuring supervision, direction, and exemplary conduct that aligns with our goals for young people’s welfare.
*Develop the service to ensure responsiveness to the needs of service users and their families.
*Take full management responsibility for the home, including managing and supervising staff, budgets, and resources.
*Deliver the service within nationally defined regulations and standards, maintaining necessary registrations required by law.
*Directly involve in the care and development of young people, ensuring appropriate plans are in place and their views are respected and considered.
*Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, other professionals, and families/carers.
*Provide a safe nurturing environment, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
*Stay updated with policies, procedures, legislation, and new initiatives, ensuring staff awareness and compliance.
*Build effective relationships and provide interventions that contribute effectively to the overall care plan for young people.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent, or willingness to undertake it.
*At least two years of experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children within the last five years, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory and management role.
*Proven ability to deliver outcomes and manage complex situations in a care setting.
*Extensive experience in managing and supervising a range of staff.
*Detailed knowledge of National Quality Standards, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Safeguarding Frameworks.
*Strong budget management skills and proficiency in basic computer skills including Word, databases, and email.
*Enhanced DBS clearance and registration with relevant professional bodies as required.
*Willingness to work flexibly outside of standard office hours as required by the service needs.
