Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a busy maintenance and engineering operation in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with a background in materials control, logistics, stores, or supply chain operations.
Working within the Stores team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are received, controlled, stored and distributed efficiently to support operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing goods inwards and ensuring materials are stored correctly and accurately.
*Raising requisitions and purchase orders.
*Preparing materials for shipment and overhaul.
*Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
*Issuing materials to operational teams.
*Carrying out stock counts and inventory control activities.
*Monitoring material usage and stock levels.
*Expediting orders and liaising with suppliers where required.
*Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards to promote efficiency and safety.
*Working closely with stores and operational teams to ensure material availability.
*Following company procedures and maintaining accurate records.
About You*Strong understanding of materials control, stock management and purchasing processes.
*Experience processing purchase orders and managing inventory.
*Excellent planning and organisational skills.
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
*Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
*Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Strong commitment to health and safety.
Essential Requirements*Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*Eligibility to drive company vehicles in accordance with the company’s motor insurance policy.
*Maximum of 6 penalty points.
