*Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Hybrid)
*Location: Sheffield, S1 2SH
*Duration: 3 months
*Pay: £ 13.45 per hour PAYE
*Working Hours: 9am till 5pm
Sheffield City Council are seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join their Sheffield DoLS Team. This role involves working within the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), a crucial legal framework designed to protect vulnerable individuals in hospital or care home settings. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage a demanding workload effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Process DoLS Form 1 applications and all associated documentation.
*Record and process DoLS applications and related forms on the Liquidlogic Adults System (LAS).
*Handle hospital DoLS applications and withdrawal requests.
*Submit enquiries to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
*Upload and maintain electronic documents, reports, and case records.
*Update and maintain relevant spreadsheets and tracking systems.
*Respond to enquiries and chaser requests from care homes.
*Arrange and book interpreters as required.
*Coordinate room bookings and handle telephone enquiries.
*Provide administrative support and respond to requests from supervisory bodies and partner organisations.
*Process notifications of death and update records accordingly.
*Complete pending renewal tray checks and monitor outstanding actions.
*Collate documentation for Social Workers and other professionals.
*Prepare and provide legal documentation to the legal department when requested.
*Supply documentation to Best Interests Assessors (BIAs) as required.
*Process DoLS authorisations and renewals, including both high and low priority renewals.
*Support the administration of Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments and weekly allocation processes.
*Liaise with advocates and Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (IMCAs), responding to enquiries and providing administrative support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Excellent concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
*Ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.
*Experience in administrative roles, preferably within a legal or healthcare setting.
*Proficient in using office software and systems, particularly databases.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
