Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a small, friendly care home where you can really make a difference?
We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join a well-established, family-owned residential care service in Allendale, Northumberland. With over 30 years of experience, this stand-alone home provides specialist residential care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, supporting just 13 residents in a warm, homely environment.
Working in a smaller service allows you to build meaningful relationships with residents, provide truly person-centred care, and become part of a supportive and close-knit team.
Shift PatternThis is a full-time role averaging 35 hours per week, working a rolling rota of:
*Week 1: 3 shifts
*Week 2: 2 shifts
Day Shift
*8:00am – 6:00pm
Night Shift
*6:00pm – 8:00pm (evening support)
*Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 5:00am
*During night shifts, you will also complete approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning duties to help maintain the home’s high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Healthcare Assistant, you will:
*Deliver high-quality, person-centred care
*Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
*Promote dignity, independence, and choice
*Provide emotional support and companionship
*Assist with mobility and wellbeing
*Maintain accurate care records
*Encourage participation in activities and social interaction
*Complete light housekeeping and approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning during night shifts to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
What We’re Looking For*Previous experience in a care setting is preferred
*NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable
*A caring, patient, and professional approach
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities
