Waste Management Operatives
Address - Hellaby Depot, Sandbeck Way, Hellaby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S66 8QL

Pay rate - £13.58 per hour paye

Temporary Contract – 2 - 3 Months

Working Hours - Up to 37 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday | Additional Saturday Overtime Available
Rotherham Council are looking for 8 Waste Management Operatives to join their Environmental Services team on a temporary basis for the next 2-3 months.

The Role
As a Waste Management Operative, you will work as part of a team, or independently where required, supporting the delivery of high-quality environmental cleansing, waste management, horticultural, and grounds maintenance services across Rotherham.
You will also be required to work flexibly across other council services, such as waste collection and highways, to support operational needs. Full training will be provided for any duties undertaken.
Day to Day of the role
*Collect waste and recycling from domestic and commercial properties
*Load waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently
*Empty litter bins and assist with litter clearance activities
*Report environmental issues such as fly-tipping, potholes, and other defects
*Support container deliveries and vehicle safety procedures
*Assist with street cleansing and environmental maintenance activities
*Work safely and effectively in line with health and safety procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
*A reliable and hardworking approach
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team
*Good awareness of health and safety practices
*Experience working in operational, outdoor, manual, or target-driven environments is desirable
*Flexibility to support a variety of council services as required
