Full job descriptionParaplanner | First Step into Team Leader
Location: Outskirts of Guildford
Hybrid Working: Three days in the office and two days from home (Wednesday is the dedicated team collaboration day)
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Are you a Paraplanner who is ready to take your first step into a Team leader role?
Are you someone who enjoys supporting colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and being the person others naturally turn to for guidance?
Perhaps you’ve been mentoring junior team members, helping with technical queries or informally leading within your current team, but haven’t yet had the opportunity to step into an official Team Leader position.
If so, this could be the perfect next move.
About the Company
Our client is a highly regarded Chartered practice based close to Guildford.
The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering genuinely holistic financial planning
The culture is one of the firm’s biggest strengths. Collaboration, trust and continuous development sit at the heart of the business, creating an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. The company also has excellent staff retention, with many employees building long-term careers thanks to the supportive leadership, and investment in personal development.
The client bank is varied and high net worth, making the paraplanning work technical and bespoke
The Opportunity
This role has been created for someone who is technically strong and ready to begin their leadership journey.
You don’t need previous people management experience. Instead, the business is looking for someone who enjoys helping others, and wants to become the "go-to" person within the paraplanning team.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Paraplanning, who will provide ongoing support and mentoring as you develop your leadership skills.
At the same time, you’ll remain heavily involved in paraplanning, continuing to work on complex and interesting client cases while gradually taking on more responsibility within the team.
What They’re Looking For
*Significant paraplanning experience within an independent, whole-of-market financial planning firm
*Diploma qualified, with aspirations to continue through to Chartered
*Excellent technical knowledge across pensions, investments and holistic financial planning
*Someone who naturally enjoys helping, mentoring and supporting colleagues
*Ambition to develop into a Team Leader with full support from the business
What’s on Offer
*Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience
*Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home two days each week
*Wednesday collaboration day with the whole team together
*Flexible working hours with start times between 8:00am and 10:00am
*Full administrative support
*Full support and funding towards Chartered status
*Structured mentoring from the Head of Paraplanning to develop your leadership skills
*Genuine long-term career progression within a respected Chartered practice
*23 days holiday plus bank holidays
*Discretionary bonus scheme
*Friendly, collaborative culture with outstanding staff retention
If you’re an experienced Paraplanner who’s ready to move beyond producing excellent reports and start helping shape, support and develop a paraplanning team, we’d love to tell you more about this exciting opportunity.
