Our client is a well established logistics and freight forwarding business specialising in the aerospace and defence sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Import Clerk to join their busy Import Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 3-5 years’ import freight forwarding experience looking to take the next step in their career. Full training will be provided on company-specific procedures and specialist customs processes.
Key Responsibilities*Handle customer enquiries via telephone and email.
*Liaise with customers, airlines, agents and transport providers.
*Arrange airline collections and deliveries.
*Plan import routings and coordinate overseas collections.
*Prepare and process customs entries using ASM/Sequoia.
*Complete tariff classification and import licence checks.
*Ensure correct use of CPCs and customs authorisations.
*Prepare import-rated air waybills.
*Produce simple customer quotations.
*Assist with invoicing.
*Process customs post-entry amendments and reclaims.
*Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems.
*Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations and company procedures.
Key Skills*3-5 years’ experience within an import freight forwarding or customs role.
*Experience completing import customs entries.
*Knowledge of:
*Home Use
*Inward Processing
*Outward Processing
*Returned Goods Relief
*Customs Warehousing
*Carnets
*Experience using customs software such as ASM Sequoia
*Good tariff classification knowledge.
*Strong communication and customer service skills.
*Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
*Ability to prioritise workload and work accurately under pressure.
*25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
*Holiday entitlement increases to 30 days with length of service.
*Paid overtime available.
*Occasional weekend work (paid).
*Auto-enrolment pension.
*Private healthcare after successful completion of probation.
*Full training and development.

Due to the location in Colnbrook and occasional out-of-hours work, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle, as public transport is not practical.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 1-hour lunch
