Join our team at an Ofsted-regulated children’s home and make a significant impact on young lives. This role is perfect for an experienced Deputy Manager or an ambitious Senior Residential Childcare Worker aiming for progression. You’ll work alongside an experienced Registered Manager, leading the home, supporting staff, and driving high standards of care. This position offers a real opportunity for responsibility, professional development, and a clear pathway to becoming a Registered Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leadership & Team Management:
*Lead, motivate, and support a team of Residential Childcare Workers.
*Provide supervision, coaching, and development support to staff.
*Help manage rotas and staffing levels to meet the needs of the home.
*Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
Supporting Children & Young People:
*Promote a nurturing, trauma-informed approach to care.
*Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.
*Support children to achieve positive outcomes in education, health, relationships, and independence.
*Act as a positive role model and advocate for young people.
Safeguarding & Compliance:
*Maintain excellent safeguarding practices at all times.
*Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards.
*Complete accurate records and support reporting requirements.
*Contribute to inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
Partnership Working:
*Build positive relationships with social workers, schools, health professionals, and families.
*Work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience in a supervisory role within a children’s residential setting.
*Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it.
*Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and on-call duties.
