SEN Teacher role in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
Support students with additional needs in a specialist, nurturing environment.
Are you a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher looking to transform lives? A specialist provision in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire is seeking a dedicated professional to support students with additional needs.
This setting provides tailored education for pupils with a range of needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties. The focus of the setting is holistic development, life skills, and personalised learning pathways.
As a SEN Teacher, you’ll deliver adapted learning based lessons, working closely with support staff and external professionals to meet each student’s unique needs.
Candidate Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
*Assess students’ abilities and monitor progress, adapting strategies to support development
*Create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and set achievable learning targets
*Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support pupils
*Foster an inclusive, supportive, and safe classroom environment
*Use a variety of teaching methods, including sensory and practical activities, to engage learners
*Communicate regularly with parents/carers about student progress and wellbeing
*Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside academic learning
Candidate Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
*A relevant degree (e.g. Education, Psychology, or a subject specialism)
*Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
*Strong understanding of different learning difficulties (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia)
*Knowledge of SEN legislation and frameworks (such as the SEND Code of Practice in the UK)
*Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
*Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
*Experience collaborating with parents, support staff, and external professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists)
