Full job descriptionAs a Charity Accountant in Oxford, you’ll oversee the financial operations of a not-for-profit organisation, ensuring everything runs smoothly and accurately. From managing budgets to preparing reports, your work will be essential in supporting the organisation’s goals.

Description
*The Charity Accountant will provide strategic financial leadership for the organisation, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, effective business partnering, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities*Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
*Partner with senior stakeholders to support decision-making with timely financial insight.
*Oversee finance systems, controls, processes, and fund accounting.
*Manage payroll, capital project finances, and working capital.
*Ensure compliance with all statutory, charity, tax, and regulatory requirements.
*Lead year-end accounts, audits, and external financial relationships.
*Develop financial policies supporting income generation and long-term sustainability.
*Manage, coach, and develop finance staff.
*Provide ad hoc financial analysis, advice, and support as required
Profile
A successful Charity Accountant should have:
*CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent) with substantial senior finance leadership experience.
*Proven expertise in financial strategy, controls, reporting, and governance.
*Strong track record in systems implementation, change management, and process improvement.
*Experience leading capital projects and managing complex organisational finances.
*Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
*Proven people leader with the ability to develop teams and drive organisational change
Job Offer
*Salary ranging from £70,000 and £75,000 dependent on the level of experience.
*Five days in the office, located in Oxford.
*Parking on site
