The RoleA fantastic opportunity has become available for two Senior Production Managers to join a leading food manufacturing business at their high-volume processing facility in Glasgow.
Due to continued growth and investment, the business is looking to appoint:
*1 x Senior Production Manager - Days (06:30am - 15:00pm)
*1 x Senior Production Manager - Lates (15:00pm - 23:30pm)
The site specialises in the cutting, packing, labelling and dispatch of retail-ready meat products, supplying major UK supermarkets, foodservice customers and wholesale distribution channels.
Working within a fast-paced, high-care FMCG environment, the successful candidates will play a key role in leading production teams, improving operational performance and ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, efficiency and customer service are achieved.
You will be responsible for setting and maintaining production standards, developing a strong team culture, improving KPI performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
This role would suit an experienced Production Manager / Senior Production Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing, FMCG or high-volume production environments.
Sector: Manufacturing Key Responsibilities of the Senior Production Manager*Set and maintain the correct standards and expectations across production teams.
*Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality standards.
*Maintain product quality and ensure customer specifications are achieved.
*Ensure effective process compliance, including Hold / Non-Conformance avoidance.
*Maintain traceability standards and specification adherence.
*Drive service level performance and customer satisfaction.
*Lead and facilitate structured meetings across different levels.
*Plan and manage resources effectively to meet production requirements.
*Manage team performance and promote accountability.
*Support succession planning and team development.
*Maintain training records and skills matrices.
*Implement team rotation plans to improve flexibility and capability.
*Manage holiday planning and absence processes.
*Monitor and control labour costs.
*Maintain strong communication across production and support functions.
*Escalate issues effectively and in a timely manner.
*Delegate responsibilities to maximise team performance.
Continuous Improvement Responsibilities*Monitor and improve key production KPIs.
*Drive improvements in yield performance and operational efficiency.
*Reduce giveaway and improve cost control.
*Improve labour productivity and performance.
*Reduce waste through continuous improvement initiatives.
*Ensure teams follow standard operating procedures and company processes.
