MTrec Technical are proudly representing a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Dalkeith, as they seek to appoint an experienced Maintenance Technician to their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing hands-on engineering support across all departments. You’ll play a vital role in maximising equipment performance, supporting continuous improvement projects, and contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of site operations.
The Job You Will Do:
*Provide emergency breakdown support to production machinery and equipment
*Conduct regular planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule
*Support the UK Engineering Manager with engineering projects, including design, specification, purchasing, and installation
*Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide range of production and support equipment
*Monitor equipment performance, identifying and resolving recurring issues
*Maintain accurate records for all maintenance activities
*Assist with external contractors and service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety standards
*Ensure all work aligns with company Health & Safety, ISO 14001, and industry compliance standards
*Take part in initiatives to improve downtime, efficiency, health and safety, and hygiene
*Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment
About You:
*Qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)
*Recognised time-served apprenticeship
*Proven maintenance experience in a factory/manufacturing environment (essential)
*Post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role (desirable)
*Knowledge ofMotors, drives, PLCs, gearboxes, transmissions
*Strong team player with a proactive attitude
*Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills
