Full job descriptionOur client, a successful and growing 3pl business based in Peterborough, is looking to recruit an Operations Manager on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting directly to the business owner you will ensure the smooth running of the 2 Peterborough sites ensuring all orders are picked and packed and dispatch on time and in full. This role for the right person will result in promotion to Operations director in the future.
The job of Operations Manager: -
· Ensure all orders are successfully packed and dispatched.
· Day to Day management of 25 staff (plus additional peak labour) both office and warehousing staff.
· Liasie with customers (they currently have over 60) regarding onboarding or site visits, or deal with any escalated issues that may arise.
· Hands on approach to working.
· Ensure all aspects of H&S are adhered to.
The position of Operations Manager is key to the continued success fo the business and ideally you will have worked as an operations/Warehouse manager preferably of a company where you have had exposure to the whole process not just a small area of a big company (so if a forklift breaks down you know who to call or how to deal with it or lorries haven’t turned up so how do you sort it).
The company operates Monday to Friday, however there are periods of the year (Black Friday) where you will be required to oversee a big uptake of orders. So, Hours of work are 8am till 4.30pm.
