Job Description:
Full job descriptionChalk Hill Group has been retained to appoint a technically competent but commercially aware Financial Controller for an ambitious international business entering an exciting new phase of growth. Based in Watford, there will be an expectation to be in the office 3 days a week, although there will be a need to be there more often in the early stages.
Following recent investment, the business is embarking on a period of transformation, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take ownership of the finance function whilst playing a key role in shaping its future. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, influencing strategic decisions and driving business performance.
This is a No.1, hands-on leadership role with genuine progression to Finance Director.

The Role:
You’ll lead the finance function, manage a small team and take ownership of financial reporting, controls and compliance, while acting as a trusted commercial partner to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
*Leading and developing the finance team.
*Producing monthly management accounts and overseeing statutory reporting and audit.
*Consolidating financial reporting across multiple international entities.
*Presenting financial performance and commercial insight to the Board.
*Managing budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting.
*Driving finance transformation, systems improvements and process enhancements.
*Strengthening financial controls and overseeing VAT, corporation tax and asset finance agreements/hire purchase agreements.

About You:
We’re looking for an ambitious, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified finance professional with experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar senior role. You’ll combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness, enjoy improving processes and be confident influencing senior stakeholders. Experience of finance transformation, international reporting or private equity-backed businesses would be advantageous, as would exposure to hire purchase agreements.

Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a successful international business at a pivotal stage of its journey, offering:
*Direct exposure to the CEO and Board.
*Significant influence over business strategy.
*Ownership of finance transformation projects.
*Leadership of an evolving finance function.
*A clear pathway towards Finance Director.

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact and help shape the future of a growing business, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
