Equifind is partnering with an leading international retail business, looking for a Financial Controller to own month-end close and management accounts, giving leadership the financial visibility they need to make fast, informed decisions.


Reporting into the Head of Finance the role will involve:


*Own the full month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple entities/currencies
*Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis
*Deliver variance analysis against budget/forecast, with clear commentary on drivers and trends
*Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust supporting schedules
*Identify and lead improvements to finance systems and processes, reducing manual work and improving reporting speed and accuracy
*Drive automation of month-end tasks and reporting where possible, working with IT/systems teams as needed
*Document and standardize processes and controls across entities/markets
*Partner with commercial and operations teams to explain performance and flag risks/opportunities
*Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit as needed
*Manage and develop a small finance team responsible for transactional and management accounting


Requirements:


*Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
*Proven experience running month-end close and producing management accounts, ideally in retail or a multi-site, multi-currency business
*Experience is managing a large team
*Track record of driving process or systems improvements within a finance function
*Strong Excel skills and hands-on ERP experience
*High attention to detail with the ability to work to tight monthly deadlines
*Clear communicator, comfortable presenting numbers to non-finance stakeholders
