Rate: £16-£18 per hour
Contract: Temporary until 1 September 2026 (with potential extension)
Hours: 08:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00-15:30 Friday
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, safety and day-to-day operation of a busy educational environment. This is a varied role where you will be responsible for ensuring buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs and minor refurbishment works.
*Conduct site inspections and ensure the premises remain safe, compliant and well-maintained.
*Coordinate contractors and monitor the delivery of on-site services.
*Support health & safety compliance, risk assessments and statutory inspections.
*Monitor fire safety, security systems and respond to site issues as required.
*Act as a key holder, assisting with site opening, closing and security procedures.
*Maintain maintenance records, compliance documentation and inventory logs.
*Obtain quotations, order materials and support contractor procurement.
*Use facilities management systems to track repairs, jobs and compliance activities.
About You
*Experience carrying out building maintenance or facilities-related duties.
*Good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
*Knowledge of building services, security and fire safety procedures.
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
*Full UK driving licence.
