Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic national construction business who are looking to recruit a Works Manager on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Cumbria depot.

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Take overall responsibility for the safe delivery and performance of site operations on major projects
*Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet programme and production targets
*Ensure all works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
*Plan and manage materials, plant, and equipment across the site
*Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments
*Support project planning activities including work programmes and method statements
*Lead toolbox talks, task briefings, and promote safe systems of work
*Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and performance
*Collaborate with project teams to support delivery, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
*Support investigations and close out of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns

Skills and Experience:
*Proven experience in a Works Manager or similar role within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, or major construction projects
*Strong knowledge of site operations, project delivery, and construction methods
*SMSTS and CSCS certification
*Solid understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
*Ability to lead teams and drive performance on site
*Experience working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
