Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Midwifery to join a leading NHS Trust in Portsmouth on an initial 4-month contract, providing strategic and operational leadership to the maternity service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior midwifery leader with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, safe maternity services and leading service improvement within a complex NHS environment.
Key Responsibilities*Provide professional, strategic and operational leadership for maternity services.
*Lead on the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality maternity care.
*Support the implementation of national maternity initiatives and quality improvement programmes.
*Work collaboratively with senior clinical and operational leaders across the Trust.
*Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS England guidance and national maternity policies.
*Lead workforce planning, governance, risk management and performance management across the service.
*Drive service transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements*Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
*Significant experience operating at Band 8C Head of Midwifery level (or equivalent).
*Extensive NHS leadership experience within maternity services.
*Demonstrable experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.
*Strong knowledge of maternity governance, patient safety and quality standards.
*Experience managing complex operational and strategic challenges.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

*Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
