Role: Litigation Executive - Data Breach Claims
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid
CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with a respected and expanding specialist law firm to recruit a Litigation Executive to join its growing Data Breach Litigation team.
With an established reputation for acting on complex and high-profile claimant matters, the firm is recognised for delivering outstanding client service across Data Breach Litigation, Consumer Claims, Group Litigation and other claimant actions. Continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced litigation professional to become part of a collaborative team handling challenging and rewarding work on behalf of individuals affected by data breaches.
This role is ideal for an experienced Fee Earner, Legal Executive or Litigation Executive looking to develop their expertise within a specialist claimant practice that offers genuine career progression, high-quality work and ongoing professional support.
The Role
You’ll manage a varied caseload of litigated data breach claims from inception through to settlement or trial. Working closely with colleagues across the litigation department, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful outcomes for clients while ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with court timetables and procedural requirements.
Your workload will include a mix of:
*Data breach litigation.
*Privacy and information rights claims.
*Group and multi-claimant data breach actions.
*Consumer and other civil litigation matters where required.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing a caseload of litigated data breach claims from commencement through to conclusion.
*Assessing liability, quantum and prospects of success to develop effective litigation strategies.
*Drafting pre-action correspondence, court proceedings and other key legal documentation.
*Preparing Claim Forms, Particulars of Claim, Directions Questionnaires, Part 18 Requests and other procedural documents.
*Reviewing evidence relating to data breaches, including breach notifications, ICO findings and supporting documentation.
*Instructing counsel and other experts where appropriate and advising clients throughout the litigation process.
*Obtaining witness evidence and preparing detailed witness statements.
*Valuing claims, including assessing damages for distress, financial loss and other recoverable losses.
*Negotiating settlements and achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
*Ensuring compliance with court directions, procedural deadlines and internal quality standards.
*Assisting with trial preparation and attending hearings where required.
About You
We’re keen to hear from candidates with experience managing litigated claimant files who are looking to join a firm offering high-quality work and genuine opportunities for career development.
You’ll ideally have:
*Previous experience handling litigated data breach, civil litigation or consumer claims.
*Strong drafting, negotiation and case management skills.
*Confidence managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
*Excellent communication and client care abilities.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*A proactive and collaborative approach to litigation.
Experience in Data Breach Litigation, Privacy Law, Group Litigation or Consumer Claims would be advantageous, although candidates with broader civil litigation experience are also encouraged to apply.
