Full job descriptionTemporary Finance Assistant - Full Time or Part Time - Ongoing
A great opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a growing and supportive business. This role offers flexibility around hours and would suit someone looking to develop a long?term position within a friendly finance team. You’ll play an important part in the day?to?day running of the finance function, supporting a range of interlinked accounting and administrative processes to help maintain accurate records, smooth workflow and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Purchase ledger - processing supplier invoices, matching purchase orders and resolving queries
* Sales ledger - raising customer invoices, allocating payments and maintaining account accuracy
* Credit control - monitoring outstanding balances and communicating with customers
* Reconciliations - bank, card and supplier statement reconciliations
* Month?end support - assisting with journals, reporting routines and finance administration
* Compliance and documentation - maintaining accurate records and supporting audit readiness
* Cross?department coordination - ensuring smooth flow of information between finance and operations
* General office administration - supporting wider business tasks and continuous improvement activity
You’ll bring experience from a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator or Bookkeeper role, with strong capability across purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing, reconciliations and credit control. You’ll be confident using Excel and accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, and comfortable managing a varied workload that blends finance tasks with wider administration. We’re looking for someone organised, detail?focused and proactive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Experience within an SME or fast?paced environment would be beneficial, although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
