Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our client’s team in Oxford
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technician or Mechanic to join an established business and play a key role in maintaining their HGV fleet.
The Role
*Role: HGV Technician / Mechanic
*Location: Bampton, Oxfordshire
*Days: Monday to Friday
*Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm
*Salary: £45,000+ per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
As an HGV Technician / Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:
*Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
*Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults
*Completing 6-weekly inspections
*Carrying out brake testing
*Preparing vehicles for MOTs
*Roadside Breakdowns
*Ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and compliant
*Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
*Maintaining accurate records of all work completed
*Completing all relevant paperwork relating to PMI inspections
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
*Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or similar
*Excellent knowledge of HGV mechanics
*Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
*A full UK driving licence
*A Class 2 licence would be desirable but is not essential
*Their own small hand tools
*Ability to work individually
*A reliable and proactive approach to their work
*Larger tools will be supplied.
