Full job descriptionSEN Teaching Assistant - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

If you’re passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, this SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity offers the chance to work in welcoming mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions where every achievement is recognised and celebrated.
Educational settings across High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire are seeking caring, patient and committed professionals to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. Experience working with children and young people is essential, while previous experience supporting SEN is preferred but not essential, as full training is provided.
Many of the settings take a therapeutic approach, placing equal importance on academic progress, emotional wellbeing, communication and independent living skills.
Your day could include:
*Supporting pupils on an individual or small-group basis.
*Encouraging independence, communication and positive social interaction.
*Working alongside teachers and specialist staff to meet individual learning needs.
*Promoting a calm, safe and engaging learning environment.
*Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and everyday life skills.
*Adapting your support to meet a variety of additional needs.
What we’re looking for
Applicants should have experience working with children and young people and demonstrate patience, empathy and strong communication skills. An understanding of special educational needs is beneficial, although comprehensive training will be provided. You’ll be adaptable, proactive and committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential within a supportive educational environment.
