As an Assistant Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you’ll provide flexible support to our Stoke refuge. You’ll be a key point of contact for customers, enquiries and referrals, while working alongside colleagues to help women and children in refuge feel safe, supported and empowered to move forward with confidence.
What you’ll do:
*Process referrals, complete risk assessments and allocate accommodation based on individual needs.
*Identify safeguarding concerns and develop safety and support plans to help customers stay safe.
*Welcome new customers and support the preparation of refuge accommodation for new arrivals.
*Carry out safe and well checks, respond to incidents and emergencies, and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
*Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality customer support.
Who you are:
*GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) and confidence using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
*Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
*Experience handling sensitive and confidential information, maintaining accurate records and adhering to data protection requirements.
*A compassionate, non-judgemental approach, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, work independently and use initiative.
*Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support colleagues and respond to the changing needs of the service.
