Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Riseley Green School, Riseley, Reading, Berkshire RG7 1QF
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am-4.30pm
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role
Due to our continued growth, Riseley Green School is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our founding team.

What You’ll Be Doing
*Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons that inspire pupils and support excellent progress.
*Adapt learning to meet a wide range of Special Educational Needs, ensuring every pupil can succeed.
*Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe, respected and motivated to learn.
*Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
*Work collaboratively with the Headteacher and colleagues to help shape the curriculum and contribute to the development of a new specialist school.
*Assess, monitor and celebrate pupil progress, using outcomes to inform future planning.
*Teach across a range of curriculum areas where appropriate, encouraging curiosity and a love of learning.
*Build positive relationships with families, colleagues and external professionals to achieve the very best outcomes for pupils.
*Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils, maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
* *Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and complex learning needs.
*Creative, adaptable and committed to delivering engaging, personalised learning experiences.
*Patient, resilient and able to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced significant challenges.

Riseley Green School is an independent specialist school near Reading, Berkshire, for autistic young people aged 4–16, with a capacity of 60 pupils.
We provide a nurturing, structured environment tailored to each child’s needs, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. Small classes, high staff-to-pupil ratios, and personalised programmes ensure every pupil can thrive and reach their full potential. Our dedicated team works closely with families to support wellbeing, independence, and the development of essential life skills.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
