Job Description:
Full job descriptionAs Head of Procurement, you will ensure the organisation achieves optimal value, performance and risk management from external suppliers by developing a strategic procurement strategy that enables operational delivery, financial sustainability and long-term business growth.
Your impact will be felt in creating organisation-wide procurement leadership, improving supplier sourcing, governance and management to strength William Reed’s commercial performance and sustainable business outcomes.
During the first 5 months, regular travel may be required to our Gatwick office.
This role will require some occasional travel to our London Bridge office.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Developing and maintaining the organisation’s procurement strategy and operating approach to ensure third-party expenditure delivers optimal value, supports organisational objectives, and aligns with financial and operational priorities
*Leading the organisation’s approach to supplier relationships and contract management to achieve expected performance, service, value and risk outcomes while supporting long-term resilience
*Establishing and overseeing procurement governance, policies and commercial controls that facilitate effective decision-making, manage supplier and supplier chain risk, and meet regulatory and compliance requirements
*Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to senior stakeholders to empower strategic initiatives, investment choices and business priorities
*Developing effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to influence procurement practices, sourcing decisions and commercial outcomes through expertise, credibility and collaboration
*Enhancing procurement capability, frameworks and operating models that support evolving organisational requirements and future business growth
What You’ll Need
*Broad and authoritative expertise in procurement, commercial management, supplier relationship management and procurement governance
*Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, supplier markets, commercial risk and value optimisation
*Demonstratable experience in developing procurement capability, frameworks and operating approaches
*Knowledge of financial, operational and regulatory considerations relevant to procurement activities
*Ability to provide strategic procurement guidance and commercial insight to inform decisions
*Collaborative approach to building relationships and influencing internal stakeholders, and in creating long-term strategic partnerships with external suppliers
*Ability to oversee and effectively manage third-party expenditure, and use procurement systems, tools and data framework to support efficient management, reporting and decision-making
