We are recruiting on behalf of Gateshead Council for an experienced Social Care Qualified AMHP to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a premium hourly rate while working consistent weekday hours in a supportive local authority.

*Fixed shift: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Key Responsibilities*Undertake Mental Health Act assessments in line with current legislation and statutory guidance.
*Work collaboratively with health professionals, emergency services, and partner agencies.
*Make informed decisions to safeguard individuals experiencing mental health crises.
*Maintain accurate case records and complete statutory documentation.
*Deliver person-centred interventions while promoting the least restrictive options wherever possible.
Requirements*Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
*Current Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification and approval.
*Experience undertaking Mental Health Act assessments.
*Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation.
*Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
