Job Description:
Full job descriptionAbout the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Dustcart Driver to join our Council Waste and Recycling team. You will play a vital role in keeping our communities clean by safely operating refuse collection vehicles and supporting waste collection services across the borough.
Key Responsibilities*Safely operate and drive council dustcarts on designated collection routes.
*Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
*Work closely with refuse loaders to complete scheduled collections efficiently.
*Ensure compliance with road traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and council policies.
*Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
*Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
Requirements*Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
*Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
*Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle operation.
*Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
*Strong communication skills and a positive team-working attitude.
*Previous experience driving refuse collection vehicles is desirable but not essential.
