About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Brake Press / Roller Operator to join their established manufacturing team in Dorking. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position within a successful engineering business, working with modern CNC equipment in a clean, safety-focused production environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC brake presses and powered rollers to manufacture high-quality stainless steel and mild steel components, ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Working Hours
This is a 40-hour per week position working a rotating double-day shift pattern:
*Week 1 (Early Shift): Monday to Friday, 5:45am – 1:45pm
*Week 2 (Late Shift): Monday to Friday, 2:15pm – 10:15pm
A paid 30-minute break is included each day.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate CNC brake presses to manufacture components to specification.
*Set up and operate CNC plate rollers.
*Interpret engineering drawings and programme machinery accordingly.
*Programme Bystronic laser machines when required.
*Carry out self-inspection of completed parts to ensure they meet drawing and quality requirements.
*Perform daily safety and machine checks before operation.
*Work efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards.
*Report any quality, production or equipment issues to the Team Leader or Manager.
*Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures.
*Work collaboratively within the manufacturing team to support production objectives.
*Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
*Previous experience operating CNC brake presses.
*Experience operating CNC plate rollers (desirable).
*The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Experience programming CNC machinery, including Bystronic equipment, is advantageous.
*Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
*Good organisational skills and the ability to work to production deadlines.
*A proactive approach to health and safety.
*A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
