Our client, a well-established international logistics and freight forwarding organisation, is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Coordinator to join their Key Accounts team based at Heathrow. This is an excellent opportunity for a customs or trade compliance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities*Support the movement of goods across international borders while ensuring customs compliance.
*Classify products using the correct tariff and commodity codes.
*Provide guidance on UK import requirements for goods arriving from the EU.
*Support the Head of Trade Compliance and wider operational teams.
*Audit customs entries to ensure compliance with UK import and export legislation.
*Prepare customs documentation and declarations for import and export shipments.
*Liaise with HMRC regarding customs procedures and compliance matters.
*Maintain CITES records, including uploading import and re-export certificates.
*Produce KPI reports and management information within agreed deadlines.
*Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
*Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
*Carry out regular compliance checks and provide reports to management.
Key Skills*Previous experience in Customs, Trade Compliance or Freight Forwarding.
*Strong knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations.
*Good understanding of commodity codes, tariffs, customs valuation, Incoterms and rules of origin.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
*The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
Monday to Friday working hours (8:30am – 5:30pm)
